An honest police officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) gets a call from Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a fugitive gang leader who has been underground for 16 years whose ominous warning prompts the officer on a quest to prevent a Mumbai apocalypse. On his journey, he is assisted by Research and Analysis (Raw) officer Anjali Mathur (Radhika Apte); flashbacks depict Gaitonde’s beginnings and his rise to prominence as a crime lord in Mumbai.
